Deacon Blue

Twist And Shout

by Deacon Blue
Deacon Blue

Biography:

Deacon Blue is a Scottish pop band formed in Glasgow in 1985. Their name came from the title of the Steely Dan song "Deacon Blues". Success came for the band in 1989 when their second studio album, When The World Knows Your Name, topped the UK Album Charts. The album included "Real Gone Kid" which became their first UK top ten single. After releasing further albums in 1991 and 1993, they split up in 1994. Five years later, in 1999, the band held a reunion gig and this led to the album, Walking Back Home.

Tabbed by Dan Taylor

Intro:
Pick through G C G D (x2)
Strum G D C(x2)

G C
You've got a lot of things to say
G D
About the big world and the high skies
G C
So you walk a little in the long mile
G D
To be sure your eyes can see the right sights

G
I see a pale girl
C
In the blue room
G
With the pink dress
D
And a wide smile
G
I see a pale girl
C
In the blue room
G
With the pink dress
D
And a wide smile

G C
You've got a little way to go
G D
Before you find the knowledge that you're searching for
G C
And you'll turn the big world upside down
G D
Just to find the things you've never wanted

G
I see a pale girl
C
In the blue room
G
With the pink dress
D
And a wide smile
G
I need a pink smile
C
On a dark night
G
>From the right girl
D
To be sure it's right

D
You've got three million things
G
To get mad about
D G
Another hundred things to get glad about
D A
Junk food, the world's over's good as standing still
C
So twist and shout baby

To find out, baby

To find out, baby
G
To find out, baby

G D C (x2)

G C
So it's April and the things you say
G D
Don't seem as certain as on Hogmanay
G C
When we kissed at midnight and a wee wee "Bells"
G D
Had gave me courage for my heart to tell

G
I see a pale girl
C
In the blue room
G
With the pink dress
D
And a wide smile
G
I need a pink smile
C
On a dark night
G
>From the right girl
D
To be sure it's right

G
I see a pale girl
C
In the blue room
G
With the pink dress
D
And a wide smile
G
I need a pink smile
C
On a dark night
G
>From the right girl
D
To be sure it's right

G C G D
You need the right girl (Repeat to fade)
