Shortly after leaving the Blasters, Alvin joined X as lead guitarist after the departure of Billy Zoom.

The night moves too slow
C C/B Am
She tries to remember, the heat of his touch
F G C F C F
While listenin’ to the border radio

C
She calls toll-free, and requests an old song
Something they used to know
She prays to herself, that wherever he is
He’s listenin’ to the border radio

Chorus
F
This song comes from 1962
Am
Dedicated to a man who’s gone
F C
50,000 watts out of Mexico
G C G C
This is the border radio, this is the border radio
Last Chorus play 'Am' here

She thinks of her son, asleep in his room
And how her man won’t see him grow
She thinks of her life, and she hopes for a change
While listenin’ to the border radio

Break / Repeat Chorus

And they play her tune, but she can’t concentrate
She wonders why he had to go
It’s one more midnight, and her man is still gone
And she’s listenin’ to the border radio

Repeat Chorus
