Daniel Romano

Strange Faces

by Daniel Romano
Daniel Romano

Biography:

Daniel Romano is a Canadian Juno-nominated musician, poet and visual artist based out of Welland, Ontario, where he was born and raised.

Sleep Beneath the Willow may have just solidified Daniel Romano as a class-act songwriter, musician, and producer. The album followed on the heels of his "folk you" criticism of the music business in Working for the Music Man. It can also be seen as a huge departure from his previous gig as a member of the Canadian rock band, Attack in Black, but, in all actuality, it has been a natural and easy transition.

Song: Strange Faces
Album: If I've Only One Time Askin'

Listened to the album version to tab this. I think when he plays the Am, then the G,
he is holding the Am and just playing the G note with his pinky. Great song.

[Verse 1]
C F C
If I had a room to breath in
C G C
If I had a burnin' fire
C F C
One would surely choke the other
C G C
Leavin' me the same desire
F C
There's no bottle left half empty
F C
There's no sun can frame my door
Am G F C
If I sailed away forever
F C G C
Never would I find the shore

[Verse 2]
C F C
If I gave my whole collection
C G C
To a weakness made of man
C F C
I would steal it back in darkness
C G C
Wake up shaking my own hand
F C
And if I ran away from something
F C
I'd be needed for a time
Am G F C
And I'd return to my replacement
F C G C
Finding things that I can't find

[Chorus]
G C
If I had a way to feel
Am G F C
The things that sit just out of reach
G C
I would touch the strangest faces
F G C
Til' their not so strange to me

[Verse 3]
C F C
If I had a drink of water
C G C
Clean enough to cleanse the years
C F C
I would drown to learn a lesson
C G C
Taught somewhere beyond my years
F C
And if I had a wild old mare
F C
It slowly takes me where it does
Am G F C
I would reach the end of there
F G C
To look up where I was

[Outro]
G C
If I had a way to feel
Am G F C
The things that sit just out of reach
G C
I would touch the strangest faces
F G C
Til' their not so strange to me
G C
I would touch the strangest faces
F G C
Til' their not so strange to me
F C
C G (hold) C
