Damn Yankees

Where You Going Now

by Damn Yankees
Damn Yankees

Biography:

Damn Yankees was an American hard rock supergroup, well known for the single High Enough, formed in 1985, consisting of Jack Blades (Night Ranger), Tommy Shaw (Styx), Ted Nugent and drummer Michael Cartellone. Presumably inspired by the musical of the same name, Nugent once also explained that he coined the name because whenever someone asked him how he and Tommy Shaw would sound playing together, he would always reply by saying they would sound like "a bunch of damn Yankees.

***Where You Going Now?***
Damn Yankees

-- the intro and first verse picked/not strummed, and the chords are something
like this:

Am x02210
G 320033
D* 2x0230 <- not sure of chord name; D something
F 133211

V1:
Am G
There's a face in the mirror, and you close your eyes
D* F
Much easier to turn away, than to take a look inside
Am G
So you're thinking it's over, walking away
D* F
Let your little world crash and burn, ooh what a price to pay
C Am
Didn't anybody tell you it's not who's right or wrong
Em G
Hold the line, is this what's going on?

Chorus:
C C/B Am Em
Where you going now?
F C
When your world's turned inside out
F C G
Isn't love what it's all about?
C C/B Am Em
Where you going now?
F C
When you get to the top of the hill
F C
Gonna be there yes I will

V2:
There's a crack in the mirror, there's a hole in the sun
Full moon in the midnight sky, and you feel like you wanna run
So you blow out the candle and you turn out the light
Then you stumble into darkness - who'd believe that love is blind?
Didn't anybody tell you it's never too late to try?
Hold the line, before you say goodbye

(Chorus)

bridge:
G# Bb C
Now I'm not talking about what's good for me
G# C Bb C
And I'm not saying how you ought to be
G# Bb Eb Eb/D Cm
But if there is a message shining on through to you
F G
Take a little peace of mind and let that love-light shine

(solo - over chorus chords)

(modulate to new key)
D Bm
Didn't anybody tell you it's not too late to try?
F#m A
Hold the line, before you say goodbye

D D/C# Bm F#m
Where you going now?
G D
When your world's turned inside out
G D
Isn't love what it's all about?
D D/C# Bm F#m
Where you going now?
G D
When you get to the top of the hill
G D
Gonna be there yes I will

Enjoy!
