In March 1999 Damien moved to Tuscany, then travelled around Europe, busking the streets. He arrived back in Dublin a year later, with a clear head and full of ideas. Damien started playing and recording music with his first band, Juniper. After a few years he decided creatively it was not for him so he left the band (Newly named Bell X1) to start a solo career.

-Verse-

E B
Don't give me something to hold in my hand
C#m
Something else to believe in
G#m
Cause I'm over it
A
And your reason for wanting to stay
E
Your reason for wanting to change
B C#m
My reason for everything I've done to you...

-Chorus-

F#m
I have tried but I don't fit
C#m
Into this box I'm living with
F#m
I could go wild
C#m
But you might lock me up...

F#m
And I have tried but I don't fit
C#m
Into this box you call a gift
F#m
I could be wild and free
C#m
But god forbid then you might envy me...

-Verse-

So don't give me love with a whole bunch of rules
'cause that kind of love is just for fools
And I'm over it
And my reasons for walking away
My reasons for wanting to change
My reasons for everything I lost with you...

-Chorus-

I have tried but I don't fit
Into this box I'm living with
I could go wild
But you might lock me up...

And I have tried but I don't fit
Into this box you call a gift
I could be wild and free
God forbid then you might envy me...

I have tried but I don't fit
Into this box I'm living with
I could go wild
But you might lock me up...

And I have tried but I don't fit
Into this box you call a gift
I could be wild and free
God forbid then you might envy me...

I could be wild and free
God forbid then you might envy me...

I could be wild and free
