[Intro]

I can remember when huh those slavery times...

[Chorus]
C#m B
What you won't and what you will
F#m A
Working for your dollar bill
C#m B
Sad to see the old slave mill
F#m A
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
C#m B
Walking home, a youth gets killed
F#m A
Police free to shoot at will
C#m B
Sad to see the old slave mill
F#m A
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
C#m B
Nine to five you know the drill
F#m A
Weekends are a short lived thrill
C#m B
Sad to see the old slave mill
F#m A
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
C#m B
Cup runneth over till it spill
F#m A
Take until they've had their fill
C#m B
Sad to see the old slave mill
F#m A
Is grinding slow, but grinding still

[Verse 1]
C#m B
Some of us think we're too big
F#m A
'Cause the system gives us jobs
C#m B
Even though it's just a low paying gig
F#m A
Some of us will boast and brag
C#m B
And those of us who think we're small
F#m A
Just because we don't have much
C#m B
That's really not the case at all
F#m A
There's riches that the flesh can't touch
C#m B
Some of us won't respect names
F#m A
Some of us won't respect loves
C#m B
Some of us don't respect life
F#m A
Even though we worship God
C#m B
And some of us won't let go faith
F#m A
No matter what the price may cost
C#m B
Some of us won't practice hate
F#m A
Because we still believe in love

[Chorus]
C#m B
What you won't and what you will
F#m A
Working for a dollar bill
C#m B
Sad to see the old slave mill
F#m A
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
C#m B
Walking home, a child gets killed
F#m A
Neighbors free to shoot at will
C#m B
Hurt' to see the old slave mill
F#m A
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
C#m B
Nine to five, we know the drill
F#m A
Weekends are such a short-lived thrill
C#m B
Sad to see the old slave mill
F#m A
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
C#m B
Cup runneth over till it spill
F#m A
Take until they've had their fill
C#m B
Sad to see the old slave mill
F#m A
Is grinding slow, but grinding still

[Verse 2]
C#m B
Most of us think we're too good
F#m A
Just because material gain
C#m B
If we were living as we should
F#m A
Then less of us would be in pain
C#m B
Those who are misunderstood
F#m A
Still deserve a voice to claim
C#m B
The things that are still meaningful
F#m A
To each and all of us the same
C#m B
And some will say the cups are full
F#m A
And give Jah thanks to what we've gained
C#m B
And some will say there's much more weight to pull
F#m A
And them will tell you that straight up and plain
C#m B
And some will think outside the box
F#m A
While some of us will hold our lanes
C#m B
And some of us we write the facts
F#m A
While some of us a chop down cane

[Chorus]
C#m B
What men won't and what they will
F#m A
Working for a dollar bill
C#m B
Sad to see the old slave mill
F#m A
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
C#m B
Walking home, a child gets killed
F#m A
Police free to shoot at will
C#m B
Hurts to see the old slave mill
F#m A
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
C#m B
Nine to five you u know the drill
F#m A
Weekends are a short-lived thrill
C#m B
Sad' to see the old slave mill
F#m A
Is grinding slow but grinding still
C#m B
Cup runneth over till it spill
F#m A
Take until they've had their fill
C#m B
Sad to see the old slave mill
F#m A
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
C#m B
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
F#m A
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
C#m B
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
F#m A
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
C#m B
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
F#m A
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
C#m B
Is grinding slow, but grinding still
F#m A
