Tabbed by Eric Malm:

Intro:
C , B5/C,F, G
Verse:
C
A man darkened our doorway
He said he’s here to share the good news
He had a smile straight from the movies
But when I looked down at his shoes
F
There were holes and they showed his toes
C
The right was left, the black was brown
G F
And later on in the garage I couldn’t find my chainsaw
C G
In the distance I heard trees just falling down
C
I was underneath the city
I was riding around on trains
Fell asleep before Nassau Ave. and I ended up in Maine
F
There were big tall trees and rocky coastline

C
And the waves came in so wild
G
But for all the natural beauty there
F
were still so many kids
C G
That were asking me for something that could help them to get high

Chorus:
F
We’re all good, we’re all bad

C
We’re euphoric and we’re sad

F C
We roll the rock away and check the tomb
A
We’re awake and we’re aware
C
That we’re confused and cold and scared
F G
And the cross reminds us that He died for me and you
C
Woke up in the ocean with the Honolulu Blues

Verse:
C
Joan Didion and Graham Greene
Said roughly the same thing
You bring your Jesus to the jungle
Try to teach people to sing
F
All those hymns that you love
C
Because you learned them as a kid and they make perfect sense to you
G
There’s a point in time when thousands die
F
And you’ve got to maybe think
C G
that maybe Jesus isn’t getting through
C
We’re freezing in the forest
There’s no wood to heat the house
We took axes to the furniture
We pulled the floorboards out
F
There’s animals scratching at the door
C
And they know we’re gonna die
G F
There were big tall trees and rocky coastline
C G
And the waves came in so wild

Chorus:
F
We’re all wild, we’re all free
C
We’re all back from Tennessee
F C
With the souvenirs to prove that we were there
A
We’re flying around in planes
C
We’re riding around in trains
F G
Searching out those panoramic views
C
Woke up in the ocean with the Honolulu Blues

F
We’re all good, we’re all bad
C
We’re euphoric and we’re sad
F C
We roll the rock away and check the tomb
A
We’re awake and we’re alarmed
C
At the scars scratched in your arm
F G
The cross reminds us that He died for me and you
C
Woke up in Oahu with the Honolulu Blues
