[verse]
G
Late last night I was watchin' the tube,
D
When I saw the most incredible thing,
D
They built a new mechanical man,
D7 G
Looked just like a human being.
C
I started to become terrified, Good God it was makin' me sick,
G Em A D G
And then I began to realize, it was no one but Tricky Dick.

[chorus]

Yes, it was Tricky Dicky from Yorba Linda, hip hip hip hurrah !
D7 G
Tricky Dicky from Yorba Linda, hip hip hip hurrah !
C
He walks and he talks, he smiles, he frowns, he does what a human can,
G Em A D G
It was Tricky Dicky from Yorba Linda, the genuine plastic man.

[verse]
G
There is no “can't” in American,
D
Or so we once could say,
D7 G
But now our boys won't fight no more to bring us victory.
C
Where are the mountain majesties above the fruited plains ?
G Em A D G
Who will come to lead us in our hour of pain ?

[chorus]
G D
Why, it was Tricky Dicky from Yorba Linda, hip hip hip hurrah !
D7 G
Tricky Dicky from Yorba Linda, hip hip hip hurrah !

He walks and he talks, he smiles, he frowns, he does what a human can,
G Em A D G
It was Tricky Dicky from Yorba Linda, the genuine plastic man.

[verse]
G D
Oh my God, it's terrible here in the U.S.A.,
D
The water's polluted, the economy's crashing,
D7 G
Can't someone save the day ?
C
The war keeps going on and on, and the kids won't respect the cops,
G Em A D G
It's even said that God is dead, when will it ever stop ?

[chorus]
G D
Well, it was Tricky Dicky from Yorba Linda, hip hip hip hurrah !
D7 G
Tricky Dicky from Yorba Linda, hip hip hip hurrah !
C
He walks and he talks, he smiles, he frowns, he does what a human can,
G Em A D G
It was Tricky Dicky from Yorba Linda, the genuine plastic man.

[verse]
G D
And across the garbaged highways, from the oil-drenched plains,
D7 G
Now we'll see a victory, America shall rise again.
G
Pass the word that the buffalo heard,
C
To the home of the free and the brave,
G Em A D G
It's Tricky Dicky from Yorba Linda, hip hip hip hurrah !

[chorus]
G D
Why, it was Tricky Dicky from Yorba Linda, hip hip hip hurrah !
D7 G
Tricky Dicky from Yorba Linda, hip hip hip hurrah !
C
He walks and he talks, he smiles, he frowns, he does what a human can,
G Em A D G
It was Tricky Dicky from Yorba Linda, the genuine plastic man.

[outro]
Em A D G
Oh yeah, the genuine plastic man. x3
