Standard Tuning

[Intro]

G

[Verse 1]

Cadd9 G
Well I rode out on that ribbon of highway
D G
I saw above me that endless sky
Cadd9 G
I saw below me that golden valley
D G
This land was made for you and me.

[Verse 2]

Cadd9 G
I roamed and I rambled and I followed my footsteps
D G
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts
Cadd9 G
While all around me a voice was calling
D G
This land was made for you and me.

[Chorus]

Cadd9 G
This land is your land, this land is my land
D G
From California to the New York Island
Cadd9 G G/F# Em7
From the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream waters
D G
This land was made for you and me.

[Verse 3]

Cadd9 G
Well the sun was shining, so I went strolling
D G
And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling
Cadd9 G
A voice was sounding, As the fog was lifting,
D G
This land was made for you and me.

[Chorus]

Cadd9 G
This land is your land, this land is my land
D G
From California to the New York Island
Cadd9 G G/F# Em7
From the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream waters
D G
This land was made for you and me.

[Verse 4]

Cadd9 G
I said Hey Mr President, I wanna talk about the government
D G
All about the poverty, that's in our souls,
Cadd9 G
what about the welfare, Mister it seems like you don't care,
D G
And I know that this land was made for you and me.

Cadd9 G
I said Hey Mr President, I wanna talk about the government
D G
All about the poverty, that's in our souls,
Cadd9 G
Hey hey hey, what about the welfare, Mister it seems like you don't care,
D G
And I know that this land was made for you and me.

Cadd9 G
Hey hey hey Mister President,I wanna talk about the government,
D G
Oh now what about the poverty, that's deep inside our souls,
Cadd9 G G/F# Em7
No now tell me don't you give a damn about the welfare, 'Cause Mister it seems like you just don't care,
D G
I know this land was made for you and me
