In some versions, some additional D-E-A is added.

VERSE 1:

A D Bm E
Years ago, my heart was set to live, oh
C#m F#m Bm F
-----this F is in some versions exchanged for a G
and I've been trying hard against unbelievable odds
A D Bm E
It gets so hard at times like now to hold on
C#m F#m Bm F
But guns they wait to be stuck by, at my side is God

CHORUS:

A F#m D A
And there ain't no one goin' to turn me 'round;
A F#m D A
there ain't no one goin' to turn me 'round

F#m - E - A
F#m - E - A

VERSE 2:
A D Bm E
There's people around who tell you What they know
C#m F#m Bm F
And places where they send you, and it's easy to go
A D Bm E
They'll zip you up and dress you down and stand you in a row
C#m F#m Bm F
But you know you don't have to, you can just say no

CHORUS:

A F#m D A
And there ain't no one goin' to turn me 'round;
A F#m D A
there ain't no one goin' to turn me 'round
A F#m D A
And there ain't no one goin' to turn me 'round;
A F#m D A
there ain't no one goin' to turn me 'round

F#m - E - A
F#m - E - A

BRIDGE:

Bm D
I've been built up and trusted,
Bm D
Ive been broke down and busted
Bm D Bm
But they'll get theirs and we'll get ours if we can
A D A D A
just hold on, hold on,
A D A D
hold on, hold on

two alternatives depending on version.

1- "hold on" continues with same progression
or
2- continues to verse 3 and/or chorus

VERSE 3:

A D Bm E
Years ago, my heart was set to live, oh
C#m F#m Bm F
and I've been trying hard against strong odds
A D Bm E
It gets so hard at times like now to hold on
C#m F#m Bm F
Well, I'll fall if I don't fight, and at my side is God
