Correatown

Lock And Key

by Correatown
Correatown

Biography:

Correatown is an alias for angela correa.

Correatown was a name someone called her once. Based in the Eastside of Los Angeles, the band is the musical project of Angela Correa with bandmates Mike Corwin, Jenni Tarma and Rob Poynter.

In previous incarnations, Correatown was a more spare amalgam of early folk and lo-fi buzzing indie rock; however, over the past few years the sound has evolved into a lush and textured experience of melodic soundscapes.

CAPO : TWO

INTRO : Em G Am Am G Bm C C [x2]

G
I'm just too easy
Em Am C
Where is my lock, where is my key?
G Em Am C Am C
I've sown my heart like a merit badge upon my sleeve
G Em Am
And this old locket, the clasp is broken, so it has
C G Em Am C Am C
Openly I wear it simple on the ribbon my mother gave to me, thread frayin'

Em G
So don't you come when the weather's hot
Em
Sun's on your skin
G Am G
Well it can fool that someone who once let you in
Am C
You were looking for something
G Am G
Were you looking for that someone who once let you in?
Am C C
You were looking for something

C G Am C C
Well, I keep the spark for days to come
G Am C C
Wasteful as leaving a porch lantern on all night and all day
G Am C
When you said that you would never stay
C G Am C C
Oh you thundercloud, you're brewin' rain
G Am C C
Still, I wait for the weather to change

G Em Am C
The silver locket, the one you bought and gave to me
G Em
I wear it on my skin
Am C Am
Under my blouse so you'll never see
C
Sometimes we're waiting

Em G
So don't you come when the weather's hot
Em
Sun's on your skin
G Am G
Were you looking for that someone who once let you in?
Am C
You were looking for something
G Am G
Were you looking for that someone who once let you in?
Am C
You were looking for something
G Am G
Were you looking for that someone who once let you in?
