"Once.."

[Verse 1]
Am G
Once I was a wild dog
F E
On the trail to a kill to feed my existence
Am G
That's where I first picked up the scent to her
F E
I wanted her for my own after the kill
Am G
The stag was ours, together we brought it down
F E
It was the first blood we tasted together

[Chorus]
Am
We were wild dogs

[Verse 2]
Am G
We'd roll amongst the sweet grass lickin' on each other as
F E
The night replaced the day we'd bay and howl at the moon
Am G
We'd lay down and we'd listen to the silence of the stars
F E
Shootin' 'cross the universe for us to see, her and me

[Chorus]
Am
We were wild dogs

[Verse 3]
Am G
We'd go runnin' through the forest with the grace of an eagle
F E
With the freedom of the wind, and the strength of our youth

Just like our old friend the Indian, we'd only kill to feed ourselves
F E
Or protect those we love from danger

[Chorus]

We were wild dogs
