Take Kid Rock, Hank Williams Jr and Toby Keith, mix with a little "Dirty South" rap influence, and what you get is Colt Ford, former golf pro-turned-country music's first legitimate rap star. His debut album, "Ride Through The Country", came out in 2008, featuring some of his friends and influences, from country stars Jamey Johnson and John Michael Montgomery to rapper Bonecrusher and RnB artist Attitude. [Verse]
D C G Bb
Red light, Friday night, headin' to town
D C G
I had some George Strait crankin' with the windows down
D C G Bb
Til this Escalade thumpin' bass, drowneded him out
D
He was rattlin' his rims and shakin' the ground, uh huh

[Instrumental]
D C G Bb D C G

[Verse]
D C G Bb
I put my foot on the gas, I didn't have to go far
D C G
I found this funky little steel and fiddle redneck bar
D C G Bb
The band was in the middle of "Your Cheatin' Heart"
D
I bought a bag of tater chips and a PBR
G
Settled down on a stool, plannin' on stayin'

But when they took a break, the DJ started playin'

[Chorus]
D C G Bb
Hip hop in a honky tonk
D C G
Wait a minute, hold the phone, something's wrong
D C G Bb
I came in here to hear a country song
D
Not hip hop in a honky tonk

[Instrumental]
D C G Bb D C G

[Verse]
D C G Bb
Now what do you think ol' Hank would say
D C G
It'd kill him if he still was alive today
D C G Bb
I bet money that he's rollin' over in his grave
D
'Cause Hank sure as hell didn't do it that way

[Chorus]

D C G Bb
Hip hop in a honky tonk
D C G
I'll give you twenty bucks if you turn that shit off
D C G Bb
If you ask me, it oughta be outlawed
D C G Bb
Hip hop in a honky tonk

[Instrumental]
D C G Bb D C G

[Bridge]
D
When all of a sudden every girl in the club
D
Got on the floor started shakin' her butt
D
It was packed, they were stacked from the front to the back
D
This cowboy never seen nothing like that

[Chorus]
D C G Bb
Hip hop in a honky tonk
D C G Bb
They were dancin' like strippers but they kept their clothes on
D C G Bb
I'm startin' to think that I might've been wrong about
D C G Bb
Hip hop in a honky tonk

[Outro]
D C G Bb
'Cause when they move like that I watch 'em all night long
D C G
Hip hop in a honky tonk
D C G Bb
I gotta admit I'm havin second thoughts about
D C G
Hip hop in a honky tonk
D C G Bb
I came in here to hear a country song, but I'm diggin'
