Spring Awakening es un musical de rock ganador de un Tony Award con música Duncan Sheik y guión y letras por Steven Sater. El musical está basado en la controversial obra teatral de 1891 con el mismo nombre, por Frank Wedekind. Enmarcada en el tardio siglo 19 en Alemania, se trata sobre adolescentes que descubren su interior y exterior tumulto sexual. La obra original fue prohibida en Alemania por su representación de la masturbación, aborto, violación y suicidio.
