The Amazing Stroopwafels
The Amazing Stroopwafels is een op 21 maart 1979 opgericht Rotterdamse band bestaande uit Wim Kerkhof (zang, contrabas, keyboards) , Rien de Bruin (gitaar, harmonica en zang) en Arie van der Graaf (elektrische gitaar).
Ontstaan
The Amazing Stroopwafels zijn bekend geworden met het nummer Ome Kobus (1981), waarin zij de lotgevallen van Ome Kobus beschrijven die zijn linkerbeen verloren heeft in Hawaï, aan een haai. Dit lied werd door de Hilversumse radiozenders geboycot omdat het discriminerend zou zijn tegenover gehandicapten.
