Un encuentro en España en 2013 entre el guitarrista Roland Grapow (Masterplan) y el bajista Mario Lochert (exVisions Of Atlantis), propició el surgimiento de un nuevo proyecto denominado Serious Black en el que se han involucrado también otros músicos de renombre como, el batería Thomen Stauch (exBlind Guardian), el guitarrista Dominik Sebastian (Edenbridge), el teclista Jan Vacik (exDreamscape) y el vocalista Urban breed (exTad Morose).
