Helium fue un grupo de indie rock estadounidense formado en 1992 por Mary Lou Lord, Jason Hatfield (hermano de Juliana Hatfield), Shawn King Devlin (batería) y Brian Dunton (bajo). Devlin y Dunton también pertenecían a la banda Dumptruck. Mary Timony (guitarrista y cantante, anteriormente de la banda Autoclave) fue llamado después de que Lord se negara a pasar a tocar eléctrico.
