Gian Groen is the stage name of Gideon Hanekom, an Afrikaans singer, songwriter and the founder of the rock group Spinnekop (Spider).
Gian Groen is known as the creative force behind hard rock group Spinnekop. Gian is fast becoming one of the most prolific songwriters in South Africa. His music has deepened and matured and now his sharp, tongue-in-cheeck social commentary is augmented with hauntingly beautiful love songs.
