Sebelumnya, Deddy Dores membangun grup Rhapsodia (1969-1972), lalu berganti nama dengan Freedom of Rhapsodia. Anggota-nya yaitu Soleh Sugiarto (Vocal, Trumpet), Deddy Dores (Lead Guitar, Keyboard, dan Vocal), Utte M. Thahir (Bass), Dave (Saksofon, Flute), Kiky (Drum), J. Sarwono (Organ). Ketika musik rock mewarnai kancah musik di Indonesia, band Freedom of Rhapsodia termasuk grup dari Bandung yang cukup terkenal di samping The Rollies.
