El lanzamiento del anime “FLCL” (furikuri), cuya banda sonora consistió la mayor parte en canciones de the pillows (Colaborando con Shinkichi Mitsumune que participo también en la OST de Rozen Maiden) , aseguró el éxito de la agrupación en los Estados Unidos.
